The Response 2020 - Instructions for participants.

Overview of the process

You provide the stimulus for a powerful live art activation in which you and two performers (Frauke Huhn and Jacqueline J Smith) form a trinity in real time, becoming conduits to allow The Response.

The process will unfold over three days, with the live art event on Day 3.

Seven regional NSW artists will participate and seven responses will be created for this project.

Step 1

Apply to become a collaborator and take part in The Response 2020.

On successful application we contact you and choose a time frame together.

On Day 1 (of 3) you provide a stimulus in the form of an emailed query. The 15 minute responding event in “shared time” occurs on Day 3.

Step 2

What would you like your live art performance to respond to? Write your query (story/ situation/ problem/ question) in a document.

A query is: A question; an inquiry. A doubt in the mind; a mental reservation.

Your message will not be read before or during the performance event, but will be printed in encrypted form.

Step 3 (Day 1)

Encrypt your message here.

Email encrypted message to: theresponse2020@gmail.com by 7pm on the activation day

Write in the email subject line: Your name, location and a title for your query

Step 4 (Day 2)

Get ready for The Response by holding the query in your mind.

Step 5 (Day 3)

During the scheduled performance time, take your place and join the triad through connected, mindful presence - whatever that means for you.

You can be in any location, engaged in any activity, for this shared 15 minutes.

Step 6

Within seven days a link to the video recording of the two processes will be sent to you.

We will then book a 45 minute video conference call to debrief together.

Step 7

The video will be uploaded to our website along with photography of the process and your query.

Our virtual audience will be notified by email and social media.

We will invite you to also share with your online networks.
